Nokia X Expected To Launch In India in March
The news and leaks for the Nokia X (aka Nokia Normandy) smartphone are
gaining momentum as we are getting close to its release.
From what we have heard, we will be meeting with the Nokia X at the
Mobile World Congress. As per a news report by GSM Arena, this
smartphone will be introduced in India as a part of the Asha portfolio
in the month of March.
As per the earlier news report, it was suggested that the Nokia X or
Nokia Normady will be a super cheap Android device but now there are a
few reports claiming that it may not be as cheap as it is believed to
be.
According to popular and usually on-the-ball Twitter news source
EVLeaks, the Nokia X or Normandy model is powered by a dual-core 1GHz
Snapdragon chipset, operating alongside a tight 512MB of RAM. That's
not only a budget phone spec, it's a 2012-level budget phone spec.
The leaker also claims that the Nokia X will appear with a 4-inch
display, as previously rumoured, with a low-but-workable 800 x 480
resolution. A 5-Megapixel camera and 1,500mAh battery make up the rest
of it. It all sounds a device made to cater to the emerging markets
and we are pretty excited to see how Nokia's this strategy shapes up.
