India says “Hello Moto” Again With The Launch of Moto G
The much awaited Motorola Moto G smartphone has been launched in India. The smartphone will go on sale from tomorrow, (February 6, 2013) in an exclusive tie up with Flipkart.
For the foreseeable future, the device will be available officially only through Flipkart (and no other online portal), which is a bad news for the people who like to have a look and feel of the smartphone before picking one up.
All will be happy to note that the 8GB Moto G will be available in India for Rs. 12,499 while the 16GB variant will be up for grabs for Rs. 13,999.
At this price Moto G is a killer proposition and everyone who is looking for smartphone in the range of Rs. 10,000 to 12,000, should consider this once.
For now the Moto G will be offering Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out of the box but Motorola has assured that it will be offering Android 4.4 (KitKat) in the next few days.
The other specifications of Motorola Moto G are 4.5-inch 1280x720 (329 PPI) display. It runs on the Snapdragon 400 processor that clocks 1.2GHz along with 1GB of RAM. In addition, in India Motorola is offering a dual-SIM version of Moto G. Seems, Motorola has really done its homework well before setting its foot in India.
The users of Motorola Moto G will also get 50GB of cloud space through Google Drive.
Flipkart is also offering some enticing promotions on its site to boost the sale of this device. The users who will be buying the smartphone on the day of the launch, (i. e tomorrow) will get Rs. 500 discount on e-book purchases, Rs. 1,000 discount on purchasing clothes from Flipkart, and 70 percent discount on the Moto G's coloured shells (that are listed on Flipkart for Rs. 899). You can read more about these offers at Flipkart.
On the occasion of the launch, Magnus Ahlqvist, GM of EMEA and Asia Pac, Motorola Mobility commented, "We think everybody deserves to experience mobile Internet at its best, and price shouldn't stand in the way of anyone owning a technologically advanced smartphone. Moto G promises its users a best-in-class mobile experience at an unbelievable price and we couldn't think of a better launch partner than Flipkart.com, India's largest e-commerce marketplace and a leader in smartphone sales in India."
