Nokia X To Launch in India On March 10 For Rs. 8,500?




At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, Nokia had showcased its Android powered devices - Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL.


The company plans to introduce this smartphone in India at a media event on March 10, 2014. As per news reports the device will go on sale on March 15, 2014. Furthermore, the smartphone was also listing on the retailing website of The Mobile Store and as per the site the Nokia X will be available for Rs. 8,500. This pricing was later removed from the site.

Coming over to the specifications of the Nokia X, it comes with 4-inch displays with an 800x480 pixel resolution. Both the Nokia X and the Nokia X+ are powered by the Snapdragon S4 SoC with a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz. The Nokia X has a 512 of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be further beefed up using a microSD to up to 32GB.

The smartphone has 1,500 mAh battery, which as per the company offers 13 hours of talk time on 2G and 17 days standby time. In terms of connectivity, the Nokia X supports 3G cellular data, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. It is a dual-SIM smartphone but unlike the devices from the Asha range, the Nokia X does not have a hot swappable SIM.

In terms of specifications the only difference between Nokia X and X+ is that the latter offers 768MB of RAM.

Though these devices run on Android, they will not run Google PlayStore. Apps such as BBM, Skype, Outlook and OneDrive come pre-loaded on this device, while Bing is the default search engine. The owners of Nokia X will also get one month of free Skype calls to mobiles and landlines.
