Micromax Canvas Power A96 with 4000mAh Battery Launched

A few days ago, we had shared with you that Micromax is mulling over a smartphone dubbed Micromax Canvas Power and it will come with a large 4,000mAh battery. This smartphone has now been launched minus the fanfare.

The Micromax Canvas Power A96 is now listed on the company's official website. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,900.

Coming to the specifications of Micromax Canvas Power, it features a 5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 854pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone has a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582M quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage. The memory can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card. It is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

For camera, the Micromax Canvas Power A96 has a 5MP rear camera capable of recording 720p video, and a VGA front-facing camera.

The highlight of this smartphone is its 4,000mAh battery, which as per company claims will give you 5.5 hours of talk time and 450 hours of standby time. The only sour point for Micromax Canvas Power A96 is that it runs on Android 4.1 ( not even Android 4.2, which is a norm for most new launches).

That aside, the Micromax Canvas Power A96 on paper looks like a good value for money proposition. We would definitely like to try this out and see how long does its battery actually last. [Micromax]
